FORT MYERS BEACH, FLORIDA (June 6, 2016) Saturday, June 11, 2016 marks the Offshore Rodeo & Reggae Party which takes place at Bootleggers Waterfront BBQ and Salty Sam’s Marina located at 2200 Main St, Fort Myers Beach, FL 33931. Proceeds will benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities Southwest Florida. TowBoatUS Cape Coral is sponsoring the event for the fourth consecutive year.

“I enjoy being a part of this fishing tournament not only because I like to fish but because I love how the Ronald McDonald House provides a temporary home for families of seriously ill children undergoing medical treatment,” said Richard Paul, co-owner TowBoatUS Cape Coral. “The fact that their mission keeps families together through these difficult times while providing compassion and support, reaffirms my faith in humanity. I’d support that any day of the week!”

The event is an annual fundraiser in which the Ronald McDonald House of SW Florida awarded $19,500 in prize money last year. This year cash prizes will be awarded including a $100,000 Mystery Fish Contest. Anglers will have a chance to reel in 10 different species: African Pompano, Cobia, Dolphin, Grouper (Excluding Gag, Goliath and Warsaw), Hogfish, Kingfish, Snapper, Triple Tail, Tuna and Wahoo. Teams will depart at 6:00am and weigh in their catches (up to 4 fish) between 4:00 – 6:00pm. After dinner, music, and drinks, an awards ceremony will commence at 7:30pm. Silent and live auctions will be available during the festivities and a chance drawing of a “Tropical Caribbean Getaway” will be held at 8pm. The winner gets to choose from a trip to the Virgin Islands, Jamaica, or Aruba.

In addition, there will be a children’s fishing tournament and lunch with Ronald McDonald from 10:00am to 1:00pm for the first 80 kids registered. Each child will receive entry to the tournament, t-shirt, fishing rod, trophy, and lunch with Ronald McDonald all for a $25 donation. 12 and under only. The cost to enter the adult tournament is $250 per angler which includes a dinner guest.

“We wouldn’t sponsor this fundraiser year after year if we didn’t think it was a worthwhile event,” said Paul. “There’s not a single fisherman that I’ve met who’s had a bad time at this tournament. Even if there’s sea-sickness or a small catch, everyone knows their $250 ticket is going to positively impact a child’s life. I invite others to join the fun!” To register online visit www.rmhcswfl.org.

Yesterday I had an engine problem on my newly purchased sailboat. I had so many problems with my 1980 Morgan 382 and nothing went as planned on moving it to where I live in Melbourne. Long story short, I ended up motoring it off shore south from St. Pete. The sail plan I had come up failed for all the anchorage locations and inlets to the ICW weren’t accessible due to channels being too shallow or low bridges. So I motored over night and concluded Fort Myers Beach was the best option. I got within about 6 nm from Moss Marina where I was heading to and had engine failure. I called BoatUS and got wonderful service. Paul the tow boat operator was awesome and so helpful. Tonya who I dealt on the phone with was equally helpful. Both went above what I expected. They both gave me a measure of comfort after so many things went wrong and got me to a marina where I could rest and feel safe.

Amazing service. Got stuck on the Chahasatchpee river from my dads house. i’m on vacation to see my dad and his boats engine died😱 Guys were very good with communication, updating on time. We waited bout an hour, enjoyed the sun tbh and the tow personnel was very professional and accurate. Thus membership saved us $1000 for a tow! Highly reccommend

Paul came out and helped us while anchored off of the Sanibel lighthouse. Our starter wasn’t turning the engine over. After a couple of taps with hammer and a jump pack it fired right back up.

Thanks for being out there willing to help us when things don’t go the way we expect them to.

If you have a boat you absolutely need to have a TowBoat US membership.

Thank you again Paul.
